Make Money With Adwords: Introducing Google Marketer’s Playbook

May 24th, 2008

Google Marketer's Playbook

Google has recently introduced a series of educational talks on their products and services. This is a series of 7 videos where their experts share about their specific application such as Adwords, Analytics, Tracking and Optimization and Youtube.

These videos can be found on Youtube Google Busines channel.

More information can also be found on Adwords blog.

Personally i think these videos are more targeted towards the existing Adwords users to combine their advertising with offline media. One of the main objective is to cover the most reach at which the “buying mode” is.

So if you have the time, go watch those videos, these are not 3-4 mins short clips, they are about an hour each!

have a good weekend!

Make Money With Adwords: What You Don’t Know About Adwords Daily Budget?

May 18th, 2008

I always heard of people complaining in the forum that they lose money in Adwords, and some of them completely has no idea how to setup a proper budgeting in Adwords.

So, if you have some campaigns in Adwords and not paying attention to the daily budget, you need to know this stuff, before you end up paying Google money for nothing.

Here’s how I go about doing it.

Let’s say i start a new campaign, i would probably set it at $10/day.

Do take note that Adwords can have the ads deliver up to 20% more of your daily budget, which is $12.

So, Daily budget =  $10 (In fact this is only the average daily budget)

From this, you will know that the maximum amount you are going to spend is up to $10 x 30 days, which is $300, in a particular billing period.

But you need to know that your ad delivery setting would affect your ads being shown too.

Make Money With Adwords: How Do You Measure Adwords Return Of Investment?

May 16th, 2008

Recently i met some old friends who is running some online business from all kind of markets, and they started some campaigns in Adwords, there’s ONE “serious” thing i learned from them after the meet-up, which i think is very important in your online business, especially those people who are focused on “make money with Adwords” market.

The million dollar question is..

>> Are you aware of your Return Of Investment - ROI of your advertising?

>> Which is, if you spend $10 in your Adwords campaign, how much would you get back in your business?

>> A simple example would be, $50 revenue from $10 spent in Adwords campaign, means it’s 400% in ROI,resulting in $40 net profit.

If you don’t know how much you are making after spending certain amount of money in advertising, then you are seriously putting your business at risk, no matter how small or how big your business is. Would you agree with me?

You need to know those details.

For me, i would track the number of clicks, Adwords cost, and Sales and determine if i want to measure the ROI daily or weekly, or even monthly. You just find what works for you and stick to those.

And usually i would do a monthly average for my campaign. This is kind like monthly report, most MNC would also do this in their multi million or billion businesses!

Once you know all these information, it’s easy to decide if you want to increase your bid, drop your bid, change the keywords and anything else to optimize your campaign, and drive up the ROI.

So, start today if you have not done so.

You will be glad if you did, this is bread and butter of online advertising::)

Simply generate a report showing your daily adwords cost, and start comparing the daily sales for your recent campaign and measure your return of investment.

What Do You Understand About Adwords Cost Per Click?

April 25th, 2008

CPC may be a mystery term to some of Adwords advertiser, some love it, while some hate it!

There are totally 3 terms in Adwords about Cost-Per-Click.

Max CPC, Average CPC and Min CPC.

Maximum CPC is the maximum that you are willing to pay per click, no matter how much others are paying.

Aevarage CPC is simply the average cost, by dividing the total cost with total clicks in your campaign.

Minimum CPC is the minimum cost per click in order for your ads to get displayed in the sponsored. This is determined by a number of factors, from my experience, the major factor is the relevancy, from your keywords to the ads and to the landing page.

So, here you got it.

What Is Demographic Bidding? And How You Can Use It In Your Adwords Campaign?

April 25th, 2008

PPC campaign is becoming more and more sophisticated nowadays, and one of the many reasons with the introduction of all the clever features are to achieve better ROI in our PPC campaign.

One of the feature - Demographic bidding, is fast becoming one of the main feature in most major search engines, like Google, MSN Adcenter and Facebook Ads.

To me, demographics information is like gold-mine. If you know who are your customers, then this feature would be valuable to you.

There are many tools that you can use to gauge demographics information in your market, one of the tool that i used is from MSN Adcenter Lab.

You can simply type in the most relevant keyword or the website URL, it will pull out the data from the system. MSN has definitely spent a lot resources in building this tool, so make use of it.

So, what can you do with this information?

One of the example here is simply apply it to your existing PPC campaign like Adwords. There is a feature for you to bid for demographic group, and it is available in both contextual and placement targeted campaigns (both CPM and CPC).

Check out demographic bidding on Google Adwords.
