I’m sure many people heard of Camtasia Studio screen recording software, it’s one of most widely used tool people used to create on-screen recording.

There’s an alternative if you want a free version. Techsmith has started this project called "JingProject " more than 1 year back in July 2007. It’s one of the best alternative other than Camtasia Studio.

Jing is both a screen capture and screencasting software under one program. It’s still free at the moment and by default the porgram comes with a screencast account with a 2GB limit.

Usage wise, it’s pretty much self-explanatory where you just select any area with either screen capture or screen recording, the program would let you upload the output to screencast.com with a simple click.

The only downside is that this program only generate flash files (.swf), which other video sharing sites do not readily accept this file format.

Hey,

Just to drop you a quick note that i have decided to upgrade my blog to the latest version, it’s on 2.6.3 now! Phew! Spent about an hour plus doing this…luckily i learned some wordpress knowledge sometime back, it’s relatively more technical than the blogger platform.

I really like the newer version, with more sneaky interface::)

And, i also changed the whole theme and look, and hope you will agree with me that this is a better looking one!

But I will discuss about a relatively new tool that was launched in recent months. It’s called QuarkBase.com

On first glance, the interface looks like Google.com search page.

The main function of this website is its ability to reveal almost everything about a particular website that you are interested to find out, such as site registration details, short description, main visitors grouped by country, related competitor websites (Hint!), social blogosphere popularity. It even reveals who are the key persons at this company.

The information that is particularly interested to me is “Similar and Related Sites”. By using this section of information, i can do some competitor analysis. This is very useful stuff.

For example, when i do a search for quarkbase.com itself, it pulls out more than 20 websites which the system “think” is highly related to, which probably people are visiting them as well.

It’s a way to find out if people who are interested in website A, will also visit what other sites frequently.

This post is not about “What Camtasia Studio is”, as it is rather common in the internet marketing circle where most people are using it or have been buying or watching such videos. 2nd Sep 2008 was the day..

I believe a lot of people have been waiting for this released especially witnessing the many genius applications launched by Google over the many years, all these are focused at making the user experience on the internet better and better…

Especially the speed!

So what do i think of Chrome?

It’s fast, very fast!

The first thing i like about Chrome is its user interface, it’s clean and simple, is in line with all the Google’s applications. It’s just enough for you to do few things, back and forward, refresh and bookmarking. It’s good enough.

The address bar actually serves two purposes, on top of the normal URL bar, it acts as seach field as well.

Chrome also incorporates a feature called “Incognito” mode, which will not save your browsing history, cached images or visited pages, which is similar to IE 8 “InPrivate” mode.

According to Chrome, it treats each tab as a separate application. This is especially cool for multi-tab users as any javascript or flash issues with a particular tab doesn’t affect others…A quick look at the windows task manager reveals that they are all in different processes.

If you do a right click on the right hand side of the last tab, you will see an option “Task Manager”, you will be able to see how much memory every tabs / pages take up, this is useful if you have many tabs open at the same time.

Another sneaky feature of G-Chrome is the “Inspect Element”.

If you right click on an element on the page, there’s an option for you to click “Inspect Element”, it may be a good feature for people who are working with web development.

You can click on the resources button and then refresh the page, it will show the size and time taken to load each and every element on the page, it’s very sneaky! Immediately at a glance, you will discover which elements are slowing down your page.

On the other side of Google Chrome, there’s many users and bloggers voiced concerns on the terms of service at Section 11 about rights to any user-generated content “submitted, posted or displayed on or through” the browser. Well, it has been taken care of. Check it out at Google’s chrome TOS update. 

Overall the browser looks simple and clean, and to me at this early beta stage, the G-Chrome is a good browser.

Google has recently introduced a series of educational talks on their products and services. This is a series of 7 videos where their experts share about their specific application such as Adwords, Analytics, Tracking and Optimization and Youtube.

These videos can be found on Youtube Google Busines channel.

Personally i think these videos are more targeted towards the existing Adwords users to combine their advertising with offline media. One of the main objective is to cover the most reach at which the “buying mode” is.

So if you have the time, go watch those videos, these are not 3-4 mins short clips, they are about an hour each!

Today i will share what i know about blogging.

Since i launched this blog, sometime i do not know what to write…and i believe many people would face this “problem” sometime.

So, Here’s what i learned, although i am not any blogging expert.

I will show you 3 places where i find RED HOT ideas for your blog, no matter what topic you are in.

1. Read 2 to 3 blogs related to your topic and get a good idea of what to write. You can do a search in Google and you should be able to find them.

2. Read forum in your market. Forum is a place where you can find real people looking for solutions, write a post on that and link that in the forum, free traffic.

Hint: You will know what topics are popular by looking at the popularity of the threads. easy.

3.  Go to Google News and type in your topic and boom you have plenty of ideas!

Hey, so go and write some good post for your blog.

So, if you have some campaigns in Adwords and not paying attention to the daily budget, you need to know this stuff, before you end up paying Google money for nothing.

Here’s how I go about doing it.

Let’s say i start a new campaign, i would probably set it at $10/day.

Do take note that Adwords can have the ads deliver up to 20% more of your daily budget, which is $12.

So, Daily budget =  $10 (In fact this is only the average daily budget)

From this, you will know that the maximum amount you are going to spend is up to $10 x 30 days, which is $300, in a particular billing period.

But you need to know that your ad delivery setting would affect your ads being shown too.
